For over 20 years, I built a career in marketing—rising into executive roles and living the fast-paced, high-pressure lifestyle that so many of my clients know firsthand. Like many, I racked up loyalty points and defaulted to the predictability of big-brand hotels. But it only took a few standout stays— at a thoughtfully designed Firmdale hotel and experiencing the transportive charm of Belmond —to shift my perspective on travel. I began to see that a hotel wasn’t just a place to sleep; it was a lens into local culture, a chance to connect with a destination in a more meaningful way.
That spark led to deeper, more intentional travel: meals where the locals actually eat, private guides who share stories you won’t find in any guidebook, moments of discovery that stay with you long after you’ve returned. From summiting Mt.
